Wetzel County Schools would like to take a minute to celebrate the incredible work of our school psychologist, Mrs. Meghan Hancock, who is dedicated to ensuring that every student has the tools needed to succeed. Mrs. Hancock has been with Wetzel County Schools since July 2014. She graduated from Bethany College with a degree in psychology and then pursued her Master's in School Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. School Psychologists play a crucial role in helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by assessing, intervening, collaborating, and advocating for the well-being of our students. She shares her life with her husband, their one-year-old daughter, and their cats. While employed at WCS, Mrs. Hanock obtained her BCBA, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, assessing challenging behaviors, creating customized plans for students, consulting with and assisting teachers in planning programs, and holding countless training sessions to improve student outcomes. She leads our county-wide SAT, Student Assistance Team, which helps provide ways to support the learning needs of students so that special education services are less likely to be needed.
Mrs. Meghan Hancock is a vital asset to Wetzel County Schools. Please join us in thanking her today and every day for her tireless work.
Maggi Still, an RBT (Registered Behavior Therapist- in training) has the following to say regarding Meghan.
"Meghan has kindly welcomed me into WCS and has greatly impacted my journey in this profession. Her guidance, support, and feedback have always made a positive impact and helped me through difficult challenges. Meghan has become a huge influence and encouraged me to pursue a career in behavioral analysis. Her devotion and commitment to WCS make me want to be better! She is not only a great role model, but her leadership has shaped my career choice and left a lasting impression on me personally, too. Her countless hours of dedication never go unnoticed. Meghan's willingness to help those in need and put others before herself inspires so many of us, including me. I truly cannot imagine working with anyone else! Best Supervisor Ever!"
